Real Madrid aim to keep perfect record against Almeria

Soccer Betting Lines

09/14/2007 - Madrid, Spain (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Defending champions Real Madrid are the only team in Spain to take a perfect 2-0 record into this weekend, and they will try to extend that mark to three straight against promoted club Almeria on Saturday at the Bernabeu.

A 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid on the season's opening day was followed by a 5-0 thrashing of quality side Villarreal last time out. With the runners-up in the second division from last season coming to town, Real should have no problem adding to their win total, but Almeria have also enjoyed a positive start to its campaign.

In just its third season ever in Spain's top flight, Almeria opened the season with a resounding 3-0 win at Deportivo, before dropping a close 2-1 contest on home soil against Valencia.

The visitors will be without top striker Alvaro Negredo, who signed from Real Madrid over the summer but has a clause in his contract that prevents him from playing at Bernabeu.

Negredo has scored a goal in both games this season, and his absence will limit the Almeria attack, especially going up against a strong defensive unit like the one that Real boasts.

Despite having a superior team, Madrid must guard against a letdown, which is something that the club struggled with last season, when promoted clubs Recreativo and Levante both left the Bernabeu with wins.

Midfielder Wesley Sneijder is unlikely to play on Saturday after picking up an ankle injury this past week while playing for the Netherlands. Fellow Dutchman Arjen Robben, who signed from Chelsea in August, is close to making his debut with Real, but is not likely to earn a start.

In other action on Saturday, Valencia hosts a Valladolid side that has taken four points from its first two games, and winless clubs Real Zaragoza and Athletic Bilbao get together at Estadio San Mames.

On Sunday, Real Betis and Deportivo, who have combined for three draws in four games, meet up at Estadio Riazor, Getafe and Espanyol both go looking for their first win against each other, Villarreal tries to rebound from a five- goal beating at the hands of Real Madrid when they take on Mallorca and unbeaten Real Murcia hosts Atletico Madrid. Levante is coming off of a 0-0 draw with Murcia and visits Racing, Sevilla won its lone contest in La Liga play this season, a 4-1 triumph over Getafe, and hosts Recreativo while Barcelona, who got its first win against Athletic Bilbao last time out, travels to Osasuna.

Stanley Cup betting

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.

The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.

MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.

Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.

Matt Kenseth And Kevin Harvick Favorites To Take NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship

(September 15)—The NASCAR season has hit the homestretch with the opening event on this year’s Chase for the Cup taking place this weekend at the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway. With 10 races remaining to determine the Cup Series champion, leading online sportsbook MySportsbook.com today announced odds on all 10 Chase qualifying drivers capturing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

One of the largest sportsbook sites on the Internet, MySportsbook.com currently lists the top two drivers in the point standings as the early favorites to win the Nextel Cup. Entering the Chase for the Cup with a slim five-point lead in the point standings, 2003 NASCAR champ Matt Kenseth has been made a slight favorite to win his second Cup at 7/2 betting odds. 2001 Cup Rookie of the Year Kevin Harvick has betting odds listed at 5/2 and four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon is listed at 6/1 to capture the Nextel Cup this year.

Hoping to follow in the footsteps of his legendary father who won six NASCAR titles, Dale Earnhardt Jr. stands at 8/1 to breakthrough with his first Cup victory. Staying with the family theme, MySportsbook.com lists 2005 Rookie of the Year Kyle Busch at 14/1 to succeed big brother Kurt’s 2004 NASCAR title. While Kasey Kahne was the final driver to qualify for the Chase with a third place finish last week, the oddsmakers give him a fighting chance at 10/1 mainly due to several mile-and-a-half tracks remaining on the schedule. Despite going winless on the NASCAR circuit this season, Jeff Burton enters the Chase at 5/1 to capture the Cup title. Meanwhile, rookie Denny Hamlin is 4/1 to win the championship, while veteran driver Mark Martin enters the Chase for the Cup as a 15/1 long shot to win his first NASCAR title in his 24th and final season.

MySportsbook.com will offer comprehensive Nascar betting lines on every race remaining on the Nextel Cup series including driver match-ups, props and odds to win each race. For a complete list of NASCAR odds, please visit www.MySportsbook.com.
