12/22/2006 - Oklahoma City, OK (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets signed free agent guard Devin Brown, the team announced Friday.

"Devin is a proven NBA player and he'll help strengthen our backcourt with his ability to play both the shooting guard and small forward positions," Hornets general manager Jeff Bower said. "He will be able to come in and fill some of the void left by the injuries to Bobby Jackson, Peja Stojakovic and David West."

The 6-5, 220-pound Brown owns a career average of 6.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 216 games with the Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz.

Brown, a four-year veteran, appeared in 81 games with the Jazz last season and recorded career-highs in points (7.5) and minutes (21.1). He also scored in double figures 24 times and had two 20-plus point games.
