05/25/2010 - Bolzano, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Germany midfielder Christian Trasch will miss the World Cup after spraining his ankle in a friendly game Monday against Italian club team FC Sudtirol, the team announced Tuesday.

Trasch was helped off the field just eight minutes into the match. Germany won the friendly, 4-0.

Captain Michael Ballack and Simon Rolfes were previously ruled out because of injuries, leaving German boss Joachim Loew thin in midfield for the World Cup.

Germany plays two more friendlies before the World Cup, first against Hungary on Saturday and then Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 3.

Germany opens the World Cup against Australia on June 13, and also plays Ghana and Serbia on Group D.
